Huntover Moves to World Class Facility

January 29th, 2009

January 29, 2009 - With over fifteen years of unparalleled success in the hunter, jumper and equitation rings from coast to coast, Huntover, led by owner/trainer Mark Bone, is pleased to announce the relocation of its main show barn to Sandstone Horse Sales located in Hidden Valley, California. The move marks an unprecedented start to the 2009 show season for Huntover.

Widely recognized as an international caliber training facility, Sandstone has played host to numerous major events and was designated as the quarantine site for the 2000 U.S. Olympic Equestrian team. The 52-acre property is conveniently located in Northern Los Angeles County between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara.

“Sandstone is a magical place,” enthuses Mark Bone. “We are very fortunate to be able to train at such an outstanding facility that is second to none in the country.”

Sandstone is a perfect fit for the already thriving training and show program and promises huge benefits for horse and rider. Huntover enjoys access to many of the property’s finest amenities including a 3/8 mile training track, Grand Prix field, gymnastic ring, Olympic size dressage arena, large jumping arena, and breaking pen. Majestic trees, sprawling lawns and miles of trails are a rarity in Southern California and provide an ideal setting for riding and training.

“There is so much to do here,” says Bone. “Horses and riders have the option of being exposed to something new everyday which adds so much to our training program.”

Boarding at Sandstone also brings with it the opportunity to work alongside United States Equestrian Team rider Gabriella Salick of Gabriella Salick, LLC. A longtime friend and colleague of Mark Bone, Gaby teaches privately at Sandstone and attends numerous international competitions in both North America and Europe. After the birth of her daughter, she is looking forward to getting back in the ring and introducing young riders and amateur riders to the excitement of international competition.

Huntover Creates Annex Location

September 16th, 2008

A new facility means more options for clients
September 16, 2008 – With over fifteen years of unparalleled success in the hunter, jumper and equitation rings from coast to coast, Huntover, led by owner/head-trainer Mark Bone, announced that it has officially opened the doors to its second hunter/jumper facility in Moorpark, California. Huntover clients, Rick and Sherry Parzick, own the Moorpark annex location.

By adding the new facility to their training program, Huntover plans to build on the success that they have achieved through the years at their main location in Hidden Valley, California. After sensing that it was difficult for some clients to make it to the Hidden Valley barn on a regular basis, Mark Bone saw a wonderful opportunity in the Parzick’s property.

“Offering personalized training for amateur and junior riders continues to be my top priority,” comments Bone. “The additional location allows us to take on a few more horses and riders, while maintaining our boutique-style show barn atmosphere that everyone has grown to love at Hidden Valley.”

Designed with careful attention to detail, the Parzick’s together with Mark Bone, succeeded in creating a farm that possesses both charm and class. The privately owned and operated facility offers the best amenities available to horses and riders in Southern California. Comprised of several grass paddocks, a huge jumping arena, a lunging ring, a custom twenty-one stall barn and a quiet lounge area, the beautiful facility is a perfect match for Huntover’s elite training program.

Trainers Mark Bone, Tasha Visokay and Dawn Williams will be involved in every aspect of the training and care routine. Lessons and schooling sessions are scheduled several times throughout the week. The team has also recruited dressage trainer, Stephen Birchell, to work with horse and rider as needed.

Owners and riders wishing to view the Hidden Valley and Moorpark locations are encouraged to contact Mark Bone directly.

Huntover provides hunter/jumper training programs designed for the competitive pony, junior and amateur rider. For more information, contact Mark Bone at (805) 557-1031 or visit their website at www.markbone-huntover.com

Susan Artes Stables in Stellar Form

September 15th, 2008

September 15, 2008 - After a successful summer spent at show venues in California and Colorado, Susan Artes Stables, a top-level hunter, jumper and equitation show stable, enters the fall show season in top form.

For Artes and students, the summer began close to home in San Juan Capistrano, California, at the Oaks Blenheim June Series of shows. At the Oaks Blenheim June Classic I, Artes and Presto B dazzled the crowd with their speed and seemingly effortless jumping to finish in second place in the $30,000 Oaks Classic Grand Prix. Presto B, owned by Alix Fargo, an enthusiastic supporter of high performance show jumping, has been a long time Grand Prix mount for Artes.

At the Oaks Blenheim June Classic III, Artes returned to the Oaks Blenheim Grand Prix field for the $30,000 Copa de Amistad Grand Prix. Artes rode the 12-year-old Zweibrucker gelding, Felix 380, to a clean round and a very respectable sixth place finish in the class. Felix 380 is owned by Alix Fargo.

A few weeks later, at the Oaks Blenheim Red, White and Blue Classic, consistency proved key for Artes as she came away with a sixth place ribbon on Presto B, and an eleventh place on Felix 380 in the $25,000 Red, White and Blue Grand Prix. Artes’s students, Sophie Benjamin, Victoria Hobbs and Gretchen Privett also excelled at the same show in their respective divisions.

The action continued in August as horses and riders traveled to Parker, Colorado, for the Colorado Horse Park Summer Circuit. At the Rocky Mountain Classic, Artes rode to a fourth place finish aboard Presto B in the $40,000 Rocky Mountain Grand Prix. The following week at the Colorado Summer Classic, the pair continued to bring in the ribbons including a sixth place in the $60,000 Grand Prix of Denver. Artes was impressed with the overall performance of Presto B in the big class.

Sophie Benjamin once again impressed as she added to her resume this summer with big accomplishments in the hunter and jumper rings. At the Colorado Summer Classic, the eighteen-year-old from Rancho Santa Fe, California, hand galloped to a big win in the two-round, $15,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby. Riding Sir Neel, owned by Inspiration Farms, LLC, she received a perfect score of ten bonus points in the final round to claim the prestigious hunter competition. The pair also won every class they entered in Colorado, including the Washington International Equitation Classic, USEF Medal and USEF Show Jumping Talent Search. Benjamin leases Sir Neel from barn-mate Victoria Hobbs and plans to compete with horse in the equitation and medal finals.

Benjamin also competed as a member of the Zone 10 Young Riders Team at the 2008 CN FEI North American Junior and Young Rider Championships presented by Gotham North. Her rides aboard Marga, owned by Beacon Hill Partners, helped Zone 10 to secure the team gold medal. She also qualified for the individual championships where she finished eleventh among an outstanding group of talented young riders.

In August, riders returned to California to compete at the Blenheim EquiSports series of summer shows at the Del Mar Horsepark where amateur rider, Victoria Hobbs, had her share of ribbons with her young, up-and-coming jumpers. At the Showpark All Seasons Summer Classic (August 27-31), Hobbs’s youngest jumper, Grand Noir, won the 2008 Young Jumper Championship in the Five-Year-Old Division. Ridden by Susan Artes, Grand Noir’s win was preceded by blue, red and yellow ribbons the Colorado Summer Classic, Rocky Mountain Classic and the Showpark Summer Classic in August. Victoria Hobbs also rode her own Nicolas to high placings in the CPHA Junior/Adult, USEF Adult and Ariat Adult medals.

Susan Artes Stables focuses on the hunter, jumper and equitation disciplines and is currently accepting a limited number of students and horses. Located at Middle Ranch, the full-service show barn maintains an active horse show calendar that includes AA shows in Southern California as well as in select shows on the West Coast and Canada.

ACP Enterprises and Mandy Porter Post Consistent Winning Results at the 2008 HITS Desert Circuit in Thermal, California

March 25th, 2008

ACP Enterprises and Mandy Porter recently finished another successful winter show season at the 2008 HITS Desert Circuit in Thermal, California. Porter and horses were consistent as ever throughout the seven week-long circuit, collecting ribbons in both the Grand Prix and open jumper divisions on several mounts. ACP Enterprises is based out of Del Mar, California.

In Week II, Porter was back in the winner’s circle with Summer, the fabulous Holsteiner mare owned by Wild Turkey Farm. In the first of four World Cup Qualifiers at Thermal, the team maneuvered around a small indoor ring among an excited crowd, ending the night with a fifth place finish in the $50,000 Tourneau FEI World Cup Qualifying Grand Prix, presented by Adequan.

The next week, Porter and Summer joined a large field of 43 horse and rider combinations for the $50,000 Purina Mills Grand Prix. A clear first round followed by a fast and clear jump-off, secured a second place spot for the duo.

Entering into the second half of the circuit after a week-long break, Porter rode Summer to a Grand Prix victory and several more top finishes. During Week IV, the pair galloped around a big and technically difficult course for the big win in the $50,000 STRONGID® C 2X™ Grand Prix. The same week, they placed second in the $50,000 Tourneau FEI World Cup Qualifier, presented by Adequan.

Porter’s winnings aboard Summer earned her an automatic invitation to the $200,000 Invitational Grand Prix held during the HITS Championship Week. She also gained valuable points in the race to qualify for the World Cup Finals held in Göteborg, Sweden, this April. She is currently ranked third in the FEI World Cup North American League West Coast standings and thirteenth on the USEF Showjumping Computer Ranking List.

In the smaller Grand Prix classes, Porter rode the young gelding Stairway, also owned by Wild Turkey Farm, to notable results. They claimed third place in the $25,000 Ariat Grand Prix during Week VI and ninth in the same class during Week III.

Porter also picked up many blue ribbons in the jumper divisions on Wild Turkey Farm’s LaMarque and on Morgan Taylor’s talented jumpers, La Belle, Louvre, Carrington 9 and Latino. During Week II, Porter guided Enfuego, her own Grand Prix hopeful, to the win in the $7,500 Jimmy Williams Classic.

ACP Enterprises, Inc. and Mandy Porter thank their generous sponsors for their continued support - Devoucoux, EquiFit, Inc., FABBRI boots, Game Ready Equine, Heritage Performance Riding Gloves, Horseware, LubriSyn™, Purina Mills and Wild Turkey Farm. Susan Artes Stables Relocates But Stays Within Middle Ranch

February 18th, 2008

International Grand Prix rider moves show stable up the road to Middle Ranch’s Main Ranch
February 18, 2008 – Susan Artes Stables, a top-level hunter, jumper and equitation show stable, is currently settling in to their new stalls and tack rooms at Middle Ranch’s Main Ranch, located in Lake View Terrace, California.

The move did not take the show barn very far from its previous location, also within Middle Ranch. For a number of years, Artes operated her business out of Middle Ranch’s First Ranch and did not plan to relocate in the foreseeable future. However, when the opportunity came to move over to the Main Ranch, she jumped on it.

“This is a very positive change for our barn,” says Artes. “With easy access to the first class amenities and facilities of the Main Ranch, we can continue to provide our horses with the best in care and accommodations, while our riders are able to enjoy all the benefits of training at a high-end facility.”

A state-of-the-art home training facility has always been a key element to Susan Artes Stables’ successful training program. Middle Ranch’s beautiful Main Ranch boasts large arenas, a European hotwalker, turnouts and large pastures. Clients are also able to enjoy the Ranch’s Clubhouse facilities, which include air-conditioned lounge areas, locker and shower rooms, a swimming pool and a tennis court. Susan Artes Stables at Middle Ranch is only minutes from the freeway and is centrally located to many cities in the Los Angeles Area.

Susan Artes Stables focuses on the hunter, jumper and equitation disciplines and is currently accepting a limited number of students and horses. The full-service show barn maintains an active horse show calendar that includes AA shows in Southern California as well as in select shows on the West Coast and Canada. Artes and clients are currently competing in Thermal, California, at the HITS Desert Circuit until March 16, 2008.
